Growth of online Education

Online learning has grown a ton in recent years. The benefits, and advantages it brings are numerous. From a young person to an older one flexability is key. Online learning allows you to be able to study at whatever hours fit your schedule. If you are a stay at home mom, or just a regular guy trying to finish up his education then online learning was meant for u.
For the past several years, online enrollments have been growing substantially faster than overall higher education enrollments. The expectation of academic leaders has been that these enrollments would continue their substantial growth for at least another year. Do the measured enrollments match these lofty expectations?
As a matter of fact Online enrollments have continued to grow at rates far in excess of the total higher education student population, albeit at slower rates than for previous years.
In 2012 the 2012 online population was estimated to be around 6.7 million people. Quite a number right?
In excess of 30 percent of the population of all higher education are enrolled online.
Approximately one third of higher education institutions account for 3 quarters of all online enrollments
There is no national data on Spanish language online offerings or enrollments, but anecdotal evidence suggests that it represents less than 1 percent of online enrollments.
